The Junction on the D561
If you follow the official signposted route from from Meyrargues to Rians, you are taken off the main D561 at the Chemin de Mallevielle, and don’t rejoin it until you come into Jouques. In fact, the signed route, though exactly the same distance as on the main road, includes a steep incline as you drop down to, then climb up from, the bridge over the river Réal.
If you prefer to avoid this, you can follow the D561 on into Jouques direct. The cycle lane peters out after about a kilometre, but as you enter Jouques, you can turn right where the 30 kph zone begins and join the Avenue de la Gare, which takes you to the old railway station in Jouques.
